I believe this poll was brought up on the old board, so I thought I would bring it up again here. Which one of Mrs.Slocombe's random, wacky hair colours did you like best?

a)Red (rarely seen)
b)Orange (construction cone)
c)Yellow (radioactive canary)
d)Green (like emeralds)
e)Blue (very deep)
f)Purple (like a candy)
g)Pink (neon)
h)Blonde (mad ma gumby)
i)Grey (simple, natural)

Let's hear some opinions:

I had to vote for the neon pink myself as it suited her best in my opinion. My first ever episode: "Closed Circuit" featured her with neon pink hair which could also relate to why I love it so much. Very fun and outgoing!

My favoruite Slocombe hair colour would definetly have to be the one she wore in "Anything You Can Do" -- it was like a turquoise blue ... VERY nice! :P

I just didn't like the yellow hair.Something about it was not right. On the other hand I really like the pink hair.

Haha, "Wedding Bells" displayed her hair very randomly, didn't it?
"Roots" is also another episode where she showed a 'different' hairstyle. It was red, white, and blue!

MMMMMM _______It seems like when a man watches AYBS? at first Mrs. Slocombe hair isn't a big deal after 3-4 shows...But, when a woman watches it is right from the second show...

This is what I notice and was told by my friends...

I like the blue hair the best. I agree with Wib and Sonosun that the yellow was just strange.

It's a shame that she only wore the "pinkle" combo on that one episode, because I loved it so much. Another one that I liked was the green/gold (or possibly brown) color that she wore in "The Agent." I feel her combinations were much more exciting!

In an endeavor (or should that be endeavour?) to be honest, I have to say,
I never cared one way or the other what Mrs. Slocombe's hair color (colour) might be.
But, I've always been partial to BLUE!!!!

However, and I'm passing on heresay now, I heard that the first season,
Mollie came up with the idea and actually dyed her own hair....After season 1, they were wigs... Am I just stating the obvious (well known) fact or is there something to this?????

I believe that she dyed her hair for the first few seasons, then the show was making money so the Beeb footed the bill for all the wigs because it was playing Hell on Mollies hair.

I just found this for you in the 25 Anniversary book....

In early episodes, Mollie dyed her own hair, until it began looking the worse for wear. "The dye washed out but the problems were caused by having to bleach my hair so the colours showed up." she explains. "Eventually the ends became spongy and the colour wouldn't wash out."
Mollie realized she had to do something about it when one day she met her twins from junior school. "I was standing there with multicoloured ends of hair, I looked dreadful. Of course the boys were very polite and didn't say anything but I was terribly conscious of it and when the next series started, I got the BBC to supply wigs."

So I stand corrected and it was the second Season that she started wearing wigs.
