managed to get copyright clearance on some episodes of the Australian Version of AYBS.
the episodes i got where the first episode of mr.humphries arriving in Melbourne and wondering around the streets of melbourne on his way to
work, the theme tune is 'are you being served, sir?',
in addition i got 'dear sexy knickers', it still works with different actors, and 'undesirable alien', which is an original script, mr.humphries poses as a typical aussie block, with a beer in one hand, thongs, and a hat, very funny only his walk gives him away.......
cost me about 100 bucks to get a copy plus to get it transfered to dvd,
this will never be released on dvd, as the production company no longer exists and channel 10 that aired it could care less, they are rotting in a storage room somewhere. My partner loves this show, and so do i now, but i thought he loves mr.humphries so much he would love to watch this
as an interesting oddity at anyrate, plus i'm from australia so the jokes are a bit more local.
made my own dvd cover too![/img]

Cool! That's awesome news!
There's hope yet to bring this to the masses. I have my "Rare TV Show" collectors trying to sniff down the CBS Pilot and hopefully the Aussie versions will appear in time.

channel ten really don't own the rights to the show anymore
they only gave clearance because 'screensound' archive centre in canberra required it, it was listed on there system as such, they said the copyright owner is mccabe paradine productions, and this company no longer exists now so there is basically no one to give clearance for it.
i really don't think they would bother with releasing a show like this
things get archived in australia once there is no possiblity of it ever appearing on tv again.

You could sell all your lame videos - I'm sure you must have some! I'm sure you don't need those Doctor Quinn videos anymore.

You must have missed that episode. She and Sully killed off the town and headed for the Wild West. Or am I thinking of another show?

Who do I write to, to get clearance
I vaguely remember these shows when they played here in NZ at the time they were made - they worked surprisingly well with a different cast. Though John Inman was clearly the star.
