How about sharing personal favorite bits or funny bits from the show?

One of favorite bits is when they are taking the staff picture. Mr. Rumbold says to Mr. Humphries, " I think it would be better without the hand on the knob".Mr. Humphries immediately takes his hand from his pocket and then looks at his hand on the ball on top of staircase post and removes his other hand from there.

I got a great wallie with that scene !!!!

I love it when Lovelock tells Slocombe that she shouldn't were such a short skirt which gets Slocombe to start blubbering and finally to call Lovelock a "b*tch" !!!! :lol2:

I like the Captain Peacock fantasy moments with ms lovelock

The one where he is sitting on the Motocycle imagining himself racing...
being the fastest one there at the age of 37....(another misprint)

And the assignation in the attic....Man, Joan Heywood looks HOT!

Dangit, there's so many....

I love the bit in the back of Mr. Graces car (Bentley?), just after it being started
and Ms. Brahms says , "Mr. Grace didn't have to do much did he" whilst
the gentle undulation of the vehicle jigs the jugs. OH MY!

One of the moments that still cracks me up, even after multiple viewings, is in the "petrified pussy" episode.

Just after Captain Peacock has looked in on Mavis and Mr Humphries, and noted a lot of bed-jiggling, the scene cuts to Mrs Slocombe and Miss Brahms in their twin room.

Mrs Slocombe's blankets start to inflate then deflate.

Miss Brahms says, "Mrs Slocombe, your bedclothes are going up and down ..."

With utter solemnity, Mrs Slocombe says, "I am aware of that, Miss Brahms."

I think it's all in the delivery. But it is priceless. Mollie Sugden rocks my world!

Even though its a bit racy,I never fail to burst with laughter at the scenewhere Mrs Slocumbe is stuck in the chicken coop. When Mr Moulterd helps her out and Peacock and Rumbold come 'round the corner..... its just funny.

"The Gun" eppy gets me laughing all the way through !!!! To me, that is "classic" AYBS? The writings there, the fast paced comedy like "Oh What A Tangled Web".

The two funniest bits for me were already mentioned in the thread :D The "knob" comment and Mrs. Slocombe blubbering away after being insulted my Ms. Lovelock.

Another scene that I enjoy watching is the one that takes place during that HUGE storm -- when Slocombe and Brahams tell Capt. Peacock that they're "going for Tiddles" -- Peacock's expression is PRICELESS!

The haunted scene (in the petrified pussy eppy) is also a good one

I like the eppy where they are all trying to steal back the sheep because they found out they were going to be ate. Remember when Mrs. Slocombe fell and what she almost landed in?

BUT They were 'appy!

!

And in the episode with the gun, Mavis lands in the dung when Mr. Molterd
says, Hang on I'm going to give the tractor some willy......
That always makes me laugh!!!

When the lights go out and the staff are walking down the dark hallway and the little door slides open to show Rumbold face and Slocombe screams !!!!! That one always gets me to pee myself !!!! :lol2:

Rumbold is kind of scary with that lantern held up beside his face. No wonder poor Tiddles runs and hides!

Agreed Brad, and I think one of the things that makes it so funny is
the "bugling" of Mrs. Slocombe :D

In addition to several already mentioned I would like to nominate:
1. The entire "But they were appy" sequence
2. The entire scene when Mr. Slocombe is convinced not to buy the place: "It be you Jed." "I'm flabergasted"
3. Teezeling. (or however you spell it) (When on vacation and we run out of clothes, we have teezeling parties in the tub!)
4. Mr Humphries making fun of Maurice's old country sayings with "When you're pulling the drain, watch out for the brain."

Tiddles

Whenever Moulterd hollers out "You shouldn't have done THAT  !!!!" It cracks me up. And when Mrs. Slocombe is demonstrating her expertise with flirting with a man...when she rolls her eyes around...it cracks me up. And Mr. H. is about as gay as he can get in some eps which is really funny and weird considering he's shacked up with Mavis! :o

I love it when Slocombe takes the tonic bottle and waves it over her glass of gin. That one makes me giggle....

I love the cricket scene - who'd have thought Mrs. Slocombe and Mr. Humphries would save the day. I also love the spooky epsiodes that others have mentioned. Oh, and of course the folk dance.

I always laugh when Ms. Slocombe dives to be called "NOT OUT".....
Which is probably one of the times a stunt double is used???

I don't know why exactly but anytime someone gets conked on the head, it's funny.

-Malcolm and the cricket ball
-Mrs. Slocombe and the errant golf ball in "Memories"

Any others from the series come to mind?

Was hesitant to say this because it's AYBS? and not GAF but here goes...
When Slocombe was getting hit over the head with Mrs. Peacocks umbrella.

I find any scene with Mr.Moulterd saying: "Sorry to barge in when you got your snouts in the trough!" to be absolutely hilarious! Just seeing the looks on their faces when he says it is priceless.

No. DazzleStar, Not noticing is not plagiarism, maybe a little unobservant...but not plagiarism....Now Maurice....Maurice is a plagiarizing son of a gun!!!!! (just kidding, I know exactly what you meant!) :P

In the words of the great P.D.Q. Bach , "My Plagiarism is limited only by my faulty technique"

apologies to both Dazzlestar and MauriceMoulterd for their unwitting participation in this farce!!

In the poltergeist eppy, the pumphandle in the pajamas comment by Mr. Humphries gets me everytime.....
He has another one where poltergeists are described as getting up to all
sorts of mischief and ususally at night...
Humphries: I've met 1 or 2 of those!!!

I always thought he said "Mr Rumbles". Which, for a gentleman of Mr Rumbold's girth, seemed kind of fitting. You'd figure the acoustics'd be great, in there ...
