I've never seen it, Tiddles.. :oops2: .. That's why I voted it off this time. Matter of fact, I haven't heard of this one (That Girl).. there are a couple of more on the list that I have heard of but haven't seen.

Most the shows I like were voted off.
I gave "Mad About You" the boot this time around because I simply hated that show !!

I liked MAY until the baby was born. It's usually the same scenario....the comedy revolves around the couple and all's going well... and then they have to add a kid and it ruins the whole thing. The only series that got BETTER with a baby was "I Love Lucy". I saw that M*A*S*H was voted off....that and The Simpsons. Two of the best comedy shows in history.

i have to agree with greg, many of my favorites have been voted off (south park, roseanne, the simpsons and more). but i think i see a trend, a lot of older comedies are the ones that are left standing with some moe recent ones still hanging in. looking at the list now i think i see a big showdown between four or maybe five of whats left. as for mad about you, i never really liked it myself, i mean, helen huny was ok, but after mabel was born the whole show fell apart

I think "The Nanny" was hilarious. Especially the interaction with Niles and CC. What a great spin off that would've made! My fave scene in that show EVER is when CC is out on the patio sneaking a ciggie next to Fran's ugly plastic lemon tree that was moved out there. Maxwell says to Niles "Get that HIDEOUS thing off the patio!" And then we see Niles open the slider and say to CC "Mr. Sheffield wants you off the patio!!"

Yes, Niles and C.C. were a huge part of the show. That's why I started watching it actually. I heard him insulting her in passing and thought, "That was funny !!" so I was hooked after that.

My feelings exactly Greg. Those two are what keep me watching the show. That and Fran's voice.

I hated her voice in the beginning... it was like a car wreck, no matter how gruesome, you just had to watch.

I love the episode where she was in the hospital for something and they were tempted to have them work on her voice, lol. It was something like that.

Fran's voice isn't too bad when she's not playing "The Nanny". I think she played her accent more broadly as Fran Fine in order to show up the "class" difference between herself and the upper crusty Max Sheffield. Could a middle class girl from Queens, NY marry a wealthy Brit producer? Her point was to tell young women to shoot for the stars no matter where you come from and what background you have. I think she was a pretty darn good role model. Sitcoms today have degenerated into such vulgarity and rudeness that shows like "The Nanny" which played up on respect between children and adults are a breath of fresh air in re-runs. :dan:

It's not a surprise when you look at who may have voted it off. Older people here know that AITF was *THE* most important television show of its era, and one of the most brilliant PARODIES ever produced. Intelligent people know that's just what it was....a PARODY. I could go on for days as to how much I love this TV show.
