View Full Version : Updated User Rank List

Since members can now create their custom titles at any time, I've expanded the User Rank list to add more ranks, as well as making each rank require more posts to reach:
The Junior: everyone starts off here
Packing and Maintenance: 15 posts (meaning you'll put this rank on when you've made this many posts)
Customer: 30 posts
Canteen Staff: 45 posts
Lift Person: 60 posts
Sporting Goods: 75 posts
Novelty Candles: 90 posts
His and Hers: 105 posts
Bathroom Fittings: 125 posts
Toy Department: 150 posts
Middle Sales Assistant: 175 posts
Hardware and DIY: 200 posts
Staff Magazine Editor: 250 posts
Senior Salesperson: 300 posts
Moving on to...
Mr. Rumbold's Secretary: 350 posts
(yes, you get this even if you are male. If it makes you feel any better, John Inman played a male secretary in Take a Letter, Mr. Jones :) Otherwise, just make those 50 posts to move on to the next levels)
Which are...
Floorwalker: 400 posts
Accounts Department: 450 posts
Then comes:
Upper Middle Management: 500 posts
After you reach Upper Middle Management, you get the Key to the Executive Washroom and your name in Purple
Next is:
The Heir: 750 posts
There's nothing special about the Heir ;)
And finally...
Member of the Board: 1000 posts
At Member of the Board Rank, you enter the prestigous Member of the Board usergroup. Your name is in Green, and you are listed on our Forum Leaders Page and receive our small benefits package...which you won't know what it is until you actually get there ;) Everyone has the opportunity to make MotB rank.
Last, the counts needed for each level may change at any time...though if they do change, it'll likely be because I've added a rank and adjusted the counts around it to accomodate. If you are currently UMM or MOTB and any changes I make cause you to temporarily drop out of the rank, you will still keep all benefits with that rank (e.g., key, benefits package).

Oh yes, to create your own Custom Title...go to http://minki.net/aybsforum/profile.php?do=editprofile
and scroll down to Custom User Title. Type in what you want, then scroll down to the bottom and save your changes. Your Custom Title will appear between your username and your rank.
You have a 41 character limit, no offensive or inappropriate names, nor anything that might cause you to be confused with Forum Staff.

Hi Minki: I'm glad I went to this section and read this. I thought I had gotten demoted from packing and maintenance LOL!. This was actually the only funny part about this sad sad day. That is my goal to be a MOB with 1,000 posts. I think I'll just move right on in and sleep on the counter like Mr. Spooner did in Friends and Neighbours. Hopefully someone will give me a poke when its time to get up. Take care all of you and thanks Minki for this site.

Greg...here's some fun math for you.
If you spent on average of only 2 minutes composing and typing each of your posts, you will have spent 24,000 minutes on that. Divide this number by 60 (minutes per hour) and that 400 hours of posting. Divide this by 24 hours per day and you've spent about 17 full days of your life posting. Makes yah think, doesn't it! :axelby: :anglophile:

No, I think those who have LESS than 2000 are the ones not working hard enough :) The over 2K crowd, I want to keep and keep happy--if their post counts isn't a sign of their showing their pleasure in (and thus loyalty to) the forum, I don't know what is!

Speaking of stunningly dedicated and loyal people  I just noticed I've actually made 3000! I never pay attention to post counts. Quality over quantity I say but...welllllllll dawgie!!! I'm very proud to have recently made it to Senior Salesperson... finally got that tape measure around my neck! :D Next, I'll be thinking up my personal filing system. I was thinking everything under T: The Complaints, The Sales Figures, The Paperclips...

Thanks all :)
Carrie Anne, Capt. Joe, you will both have that key faster than you think (if you leave those bottles alone ;)). I never thought I'd get it when I joined back in January! :) I have to say joining the board was arguably one of the only wise decisions I've taken this year.
Congrats Sienna. You'll be in the board room before you know it :D.

Considering Greg's current number of posts and his omnipresence on the board, it's not hard to believe that he was like this from the very beginning  What was it, three hundred posts a day? Four hundred? ;)
But you are right Greg, it's great to be here where everybody else loves AYBS too :)

I used to got to 1 or 2 other forums but this place takes up my time and I love the board for it. This is a job for me. I moderate this place to keep it safe for you gals and pals. If there are 101 new post when I pop on then I must look at and more or less answer 101 post. Most members pick and choose what departments they visit or who's post they answer but if you take notice, I answer post from every single department here.

I was thinking about creating a few post-MOTB ranks for fun. I mean, once you hit 1000 you are still a MOTB, but just some more levels for people to reach. Problem is, I have few good ideas.
