I always wondered, if they show would've lasted longer, would any of our old AYBS? friends dropped by for visit. Just an eppy or two.
That's why this poll is before you. Choose an old friend that might have made a funny episode for Grace and Favour.

I chose Miss Belfridge. I thought it would be funny to see this "glamour girl" plopped down into the muck and mire of the farm and running the Manor. She'd give Mavis some makeup lessons and help Mavis become more wordly. And can you imagine Moulturd chasing Miss Belfridge around....not to MENTION the severe competition for attention with Miss Lovelock?! :D

Lucas would have been the one I would have loved to seen pop in.
Make him filthy rich and buying part of the Manor so he could make appearences every now and then.

Lucas certainly.

lucas would have been great to see out there in the country, more material for his jokes and it would have just been nice to see him one more time after he left the original so suddenly

Or at least an explantion on why he left in the first place.

Maybe he was moved to a hush-hush place like the Bargin Basement or demoted to sweeping up the stockroom.

Well,
This has been a most stimulating poll. One thing is very clear from this, we miss Mr. Lucas. He's winning the poll. I myself think that Lucas would have made an excellent add to Millstone.
Imagine Peacock and Lucas fighting over Miss Lovelock.

Or Lucas having the money and power to put Peacock in his place !!!

Better yet, Wibbie.
Actually, from what I've read, Trevor Bannister was asked to appear in GF but turned it down. Quote: "I don't fancy seeing myself chasing a gray haired Miss Brahms."
Our loss.

I fancy Miss Bakewell. Being a bit older she could be an executive type come to run the place profitably. Peacock would be interested for sure. Why he wasn't nuts about her before I could never figure. Maybe she was out of his league. With business booming the staff would be working their fingers to the bone and would soon resent the extra work.

I just seen that someone (Sonosun) voted for Miss Bakewell and that would have been interesting. She was one of YMG favorite secretaries and to have her come back and maybe even get in a cat fight with Miss Lovelock would have been great. Rolling on the floor, ripping at their clothes... biting eat other... now that makes great telly !!!!!

And right up Wibbie's alley. I can just see it all now, Wibbie siting in front of telly watching Lovelock and Bakewell in a wrestling match to the stitch of clothes.
Cool down, Wibbie! *throws water on Wibbie*

Couldn't agree more, kind of like a replay of "Takeover" :)

That would have been a great first line for Lucas. The staff are expecting someone to walk through the door... the door opens.... and the only thing you hear is "You're naaammme Sir ?"

I voted for cute Mr. Spooner because he and his pop group could be touring and drop by the Millstone Manner for a visit. We could learn of his success since he left Grace Bros.

I always wanted to see Annie show up for a surprise visit to encourage Mavis along with ways of winning over her son. Besides, she could be a real help with the entertaining of the guests. Have any of you read my 3rd fanfic Formal Attire Optional?

I choose Mrs. Humphries- she could show up at the manor and have to displace Mavis from sharing a bed with Mr. Humphries! Wit hilarious results...

Never got a chance to read it DY but I'm sure it's good !!
I think Mr Lucas would have been great at Millstone manner. I think the location and the situation would have made some great joke material.

Well, I voted for Mr. Lucas, but I think most of them would have funny possibilites.
Mr. Spooner visiting: once a big pop star, now a has-been lounge lizard, reduced to performing at millstone manor
Mrs. Humphries...I don't know why, but I could totally see Moulterd trying to get "frisky" with her, pinch her behind, etc. And I think she would have been hilarious in that situation!

There, for those of you happy witht the Mavis/Humphries storyline....
Annie Humphries comes to visit and gets swept off her feet by Morris. They end up in a whirlwind relationship and eventually get married. Making Mavis and Claybourne brother and sister.
I like the "has been" Spooner storyline as well. Him getting a gig at Millstone Manor not knowing the staff now own it and them not knowing it's him. The little stage is dark, the lights come one with the music of "Chantu La Mour" (sp) spilling out of the speaker. Spooner turns around and the shocked look on EVERYONES face is priceless. The staff were expecting a huge pop star and Spooner was hoping that no one would recognize him playing a small time venue like Millstone Manor !!!

I voted for Mr. Lucas because I thought he would have made the best addition to the show of them all.
But I have to wonder what would have happened if the Canteen Manageress would have popped in for a few episodes... She had a strange magic all her own for insults and bad food.

Have her showing up as the new cook.
Miss Yardswick: "I feel totally out of place in this manor house kitchen. I can't find any tins to open. Where do I locate the food?"
Miss Brahms: "Well, some of it is under the hens and some of it is still in the cow. The rest of it is in the pig sty and he doesn't know what danger he is in."
Miss Yardswick: "Are you kidding me? You mean I have to go out and milk a cow? What am I supposed to do, corner it and get a quick squirt?"
