If anyone hasn't listened to this, get over right now and spend some time with John Inman !!!! This is fabulous !!!! His stories about how he smoked 60 fags a day....about Regulo 2....about how the show was rehersed during the day and then filmed live in front of 250 people in the audience...the reason Trevor really left....about the Wibbly Wobblys !!!!!....about Trevor and John swapping lines....about "Our Ada!!!"....about why "Grace and Favour" ceased to go on....John meeting the Queen Mother....about a "Toad in the hole" being sausages in batter....about the "outakes"....the difference between today's show with classic comedies....his "Punch and Judy" sweater he got to keep....about how "someone" stole all the merchandise from the "Pilot" eppy....about the reason behind the whole "AYBS? in Oz....about the "Pilot"s reason for being Black and White....and then to top it off, the phone call to his Mother had me in tears !!!!!

I made it a point to post this link every few months or so on our old board. I think it's such a fun piece for us fans to have and I am glad it's still available for a listen. Fun to have on in the background while you're on your computers.

I've got to share this link with my daughter. She's a John Inman fan too! (Of course, I'm anxious to listen to it! I'd love to have it in the background!*)

:::crossing fingers:::
*Hoping this will work without a computer ~ for me.

Hi, Vicar...sorry to be so long in responding but I've not been here lately due to responsibilities...you know the old story. I only found your query tonight.

I do not know of a text version of this John Inman program, but I'll keep a lookout for one. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Greg's quote is spot on. I just listened to it this morning straight through...
Very very cool...I thought it was interesting that I already knew much of
the "stuff", the replies John made to audience questions.
That is totally because of 1) watching the episodes so much and 2)
THIS BOARD!!!!
Our members here have added so much to answering questions that
we've all had about ABYS...if you are a realative newbie to the board
I would suggest you read through the older threads on the AYBS CENTRAL
area of the board. Ignore my (junk) posts, of course.
I feel we are very fortunate to have UK and commonwealth members because they provide a wealth of info into British culture that is mostly
unknown here. I THANK YOU ALL!!!

NOW back to the AYBS episode already in progress!

We'll also be getting it back here on THIS site. :) I do believe it was I who originally posted the link a few years ago on the board we occupied before we moved here. I made it a point to bump "An Evening" up every so often so no AYBS? fan would miss it. :humphries01:

Great! Nice to see more people have tried to preserve "history"! This forum is a lot of fun because of that! :)
